1. Who we are

Flavrdex is operated by Rebellion Software LLC ("we", "us", or "our"), registered at North Carolina, USA. If you have any questions about this policy, you can contact us at support@flavrdex.com.

2. What information we collect

Account information: When you register, we collect your name and email address. If you use a third-party sign-in method in the future, we may receive basic profile information from that provider.

Recipe content: We store the recipes, recipe books, ingredients, instructions, notes, and images you create in Flavrdex. This content is yours — we only hold it on your behalf.

Subscription and billing information: Paid subscriptions are processed by Paddle. We do not store your full payment card details. Paddle shares with us the minimum information necessary to manage your subscription (subscription status, plan, billing dates). Paddle acts as the merchant of record for all transactions; their privacy policy governs how they handle your payment data.

Usage data: We may collect basic server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) for security and debugging purposes. We do not use third-party analytics tracking.

Cookies: We use a session cookie to keep you logged in and a CSRF cookie for security. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

3. How we use your information

• To provide, operate, and maintain the Flavrdex service
• To manage your account and subscription
• To send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, family plan invitations, payment receipts)
• To respond to support requests
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data to serve advertisements.

4. How we share your information

We share your data only where necessary to operate the service:

• Paddle — payment processing and subscription management. Paddle is the merchant of record and processes all billing on our behalf.
• Email provider — we use a third-party SMTP provider to send transactional emails. They process your email address solely to deliver messages.
• Hosting infrastructure — your data is stored on servers provided by our hosting provider. They have no independent access to your content.

We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties for commercial purposes.

5. Public vs. private content

Recipes you mark as public are visible to other Flavrdex users in the Discover section (paid plans) and can be viewed by anyone with a shareable link. Recipes you mark as private are visible only to you (and, on a Family plan, to members of your family group).

You can change a recipe's visibility at any time from the edit screen.

6. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and recipe content within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., billing records for tax purposes, which we may retain for up to 7 years).

Recipes that are hidden due to a free-plan limit are not deleted — they are retained and restored if you re-subscribe.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate personal data
• Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
• Export your data in a portable format
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your information.

9. Children's privacy

Flavrdex is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice in the app. Continued use of Flavrdex after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
